Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 8, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how DNZ Labs collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our websites, applications, licensing services, downloads, updates, and support services.

We design our products with a local-first mindset where practical. We aim to collect only what is necessary to operate, license, support, and improve our products.

1. Information We Collect

Depending on how you interact with DNZ Labs, we may collect the following types of information.

Account, Purchase, and License Information

When you purchase or activate a product, we may process:

  • email address;
  • name or billing name if provided by the payment processor;
  • license key hash;
  • product purchased;
  • license tier;
  • order ID;
  • subscription ID;
  • refund status;
  • activation status;
  • device activation count;
  • timestamps related to activation, verification, and deactivation.

We do not store raw license keys when not necessary. License keys may be hashed for validation and support.

Device and App Information

For licensing, update compatibility, support, and diagnostics, we may process:

  • product slug;
  • app version;
  • build number;
  • macOS version;
  • activation ID;
  • device hash generated by the app;
  • license verification timestamps;
  • update status;
  • error codes.

We do not need your raw hardware identifier for normal licensing. Where device identity is needed, the app may send a derived device hash instead of the raw hardware value.

Website Information

When you visit our website, standard web server logs or analytics tools may process:

  • IP address;
  • browser type;
  • device type;
  • visited pages;
  • referral page;
  • approximate location based on IP;
  • timestamps;
  • cookie or similar identifiers if used.

Support Information

When you contact support, we may process:

  • your email address;
  • your message;
  • product name;
  • app version;
  • macOS version;
  • license status summary;
  • diagnostic information you choose to send or copy;
  • attachments you provide.

Do not send sensitive files unless they are necessary for support.

2. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

DNZ Labs does not intentionally collect:

  • full credit card numbers;
  • raw passwords;
  • private Sparkle signing keys;
  • Hostinger credentials;
  • database credentials;
  • contents of your local files unless you explicitly send them to support;
  • raw hardware identifiers where a device hash is sufficient;
  • unnecessary personal data unrelated to product operation.

Some payment and billing information is handled by third-party payment processors.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • process purchases;
  • issue, activate, verify, deactivate, revoke, or refund licenses;
  • enforce activation limits;
  • provide software downloads and updates;
  • respond to support requests;
  • debug product or licensing issues;
  • prevent abuse, fraud, and license misuse;
  • improve product reliability;
  • comply with legal obligations.

4. Local-First Product Behavior

Many DNZ Labs products are designed to store user data locally on your Mac.

Depending on the product, local data may include settings, app state, workspace data, temporary files, cached license state, update preferences, and product-specific data.

Local-first does not mean no network activity. Some features may still contact DNZ Labs or third-party services for licensing, updates, payments, support, downloads, or optional services.

5. License Activation and Verification

DNZ Labs products may contact the DNZ Labs Licensing API to activate or verify licenses.

License checks may include:

  • license key or license key hash;
  • product slug;
  • device hash;
  • app version;
  • macOS version;
  • activation ID;
  • timestamps.

The app does not need to contact Lemon Squeezy directly for license verification.

6. Payments

Payments may be processed by Lemon Squeezy or another authorized payment provider.

Payment processors may collect and process billing details, tax details, payment method details, country, transaction metadata, fraud prevention signals, and related information.

Their processing is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

DNZ Labs may receive limited transaction and customer metadata needed to fulfill purchases, issue licenses, process refunds, and provide support.

7. Updates

DNZ Labs apps may use Sparkle or another update framework to check for software updates.

Update checks may request a public appcast URL such as:

https://downloads.dnzlabs.app/{productSlug}/appcast.xml

Update systems may process app version, build number, operating system version, and update status depending on configuration.

By default, DNZ Labs aims to minimize unnecessary update telemetry.

8. Cookies and Analytics

DNZ Labs websites may use cookies or similar technologies for:

  • basic site operation;
  • security;
  • analytics;
  • performance;
  • remembering preferences.

If analytics are used, we aim to keep them limited and privacy-conscious.

You can control cookies through your browser settings.

9. Support Diagnostics

Some DNZ Labs apps may include a “Copy Diagnostic Info” feature.

Diagnostic information is copied only when you choose to copy it.

Diagnostics may include:

  • app name;
  • product slug;
  • app version;
  • build number;
  • macOS version;
  • architecture;
  • license status summary;
  • update status summary;
  • appcast URL.

Diagnostics should not include raw license keys, raw hardware identifiers, private keys, payment secrets, or database credentials.

10. Data Sharing

We may share information with service providers that help operate DNZ Labs, including:

  • payment processors;
  • hosting providers;
  • email providers;
  • support tools;
  • analytics providers;
  • error or crash reporting tools;
  • software update infrastructure.

We do not sell personal information to advertisers.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights, to prevent fraud, to enforce Terms, or to protect DNZ Labs and users.

11. Data Retention

We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

License, order, and refund records may be retained for legal, tax, accounting, fraud prevention, and support reasons.

Support messages may be retained to manage support history and improve service.

Local data stored by apps remains on your device unless a product feature or support action transfers it elsewhere.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information.

However, no system is completely secure.

You are responsible for keeping your device, email account, license key, and backups secure.

13. International Use

DNZ Labs products and services may be used from different countries.

Information may be processed in countries other than your own, depending on service providers and infrastructure.

By using DNZ Labs products, you understand that information may be processed where DNZ Labs or its providers operate.

14. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict certain personal information.

To make a request, contact us at:

privacy@dnzlabs.app

We may need to verify your request before acting on it.

15. Children

DNZ Labs products are not intended for children under the age required by applicable law.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

If changes are material, we may notify users through the website, app, email, release notes, or another reasonable method.

The “Last updated” date shows when this Policy was last revised.
