Quick guide

Oleo

Oleo lives in your menu bar and keeps copied items in a temporary queue, so you can collect first and paste them back in order without turning your clipboard into history.

  1. Open Oleo from the menu bar

    Click the Oleo icon in the menu bar and make sure the queue is active. Oleo may ask for Accessibility permission so it can catch global shortcuts before paste reaches the focused app.

  2. Copy items into the queue

    Use Cmd+C as usual while Oleo is active. Oleo collects supported clipboard content in memory, including text, rich text, HTML, PNG, and TIFF representations.

  3. Paste items in order

    Move to the destination app and press Cmd+V repeatedly. Oleo prepares the next queued item before the focused app receives paste.

  4. Pin what should stay

    The queue window shows what pastes next at the top and everything after it under Up next. Each Up next row has a pin icon — click it, or right-click the row and choose Pin, and pasting skips that item instead of consuming it, so a value you need again stays put while the rest of the queue moves. Click it again to unpin. The preview HUD shows the same pin beside each item. If every item is pinned the next paste still goes through, and a burst paste always empties the whole queue, pinned items included.

  5. Choose how the queue empties

    FIFO pastes the oldest item first, LIFO the newest, and Smart picks between the two based on the app you are pasting into and what you have done there before. Oleo keeps three separate stacks, so you can park one collection and start another without mixing them — switch between them from the queue window's header or footer.

  6. Preview, mask, and clear the queue

    Use the menu bar, queue window, or preview HUD to see what is waiting. Privacy mode controls only what the previews show, never what gets pasted: Preview shows the beginning of the item, Partial Mask shows just the first and last few characters, and Sensitive hides the text entirely. Switch it from the queue window's footer or in Preferences. Clear all when you are done, or set an auto-clear timeout of 1, 5, or 15 minutes.

  7. Continue after the trial

    Pro

    The trial includes the full Oleo workflow for 100 real captures. A license removes that capture limit so you can keep using the same workflow.

Good to know

  • Oleo keeps queue contents in process memory only. It does not create a persistent clipboard history, database, cloud sync, or file-backed archive.
  • Oleo clears owned clipboard content when queues are cleared, emptied, or the app exits.
  • Oleo checks for updates in the background. When a new version is found, an Install item appears at the top of the menu bar menu.
  • Trial is not a permanent free tier. After 100 real captures, a license is required to keep using Oleo.
